“You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it’s better to listen to what it has to say. That way, you’ll never have to fear an unanticipated blow.”
— Paulo  Coelho

…and thus “follow your heart,it’s always right” saying comes to mind…Following our heart’s desire sounds easy right?but on the other hand actually doing it is alot more complicated than it seems…

Why…?

…because there are a lot of things to be taken into consideration. Is it morally acceptable? Will it really make me happy? What will the others say? Will it be easy? What if it’s not what i really want?  and all the other what if’s and will it’s…
Following our heart is always contradicted by society’s moral standards. Of what is morally wrong or right,or is it immoral…How will it affect others around us.

Say,for arguments sake, you’re a closet gay. You wanted to be out and let people know your preference. Let’s admit it, being gay is still not totally accepted by the masses, although it might not be an issue anymore to others. Others are still hypocrites. What i’am saying is your relatives might be okay for other people to be gay but would stone you to death if they knew you are one. Do you get my drift..?So you are torn by your heart’s desire against what your family will say and think. Will they accept you or will they cast you out? Will you be brave enough to trust what your heart says?

And the counter argument comes in, what if they will accept you?what if they will actually support you? see our choices are always surrounded by a million what if’s and will it’s… err…i think i just ran out of things to say…i’d prolly edit this some other time when the thought comes back to me again.

…for now following my heart is something i cannot do. For losing control over everything i assume i have control over is something i cannot lose a grip of.

…i dont even think this counts as a blog. LOL my mind is a constant mess of jumbled ideas and theories. :) so please pardon me if i dont make any sense.  ciao! ^^

  1. it makes perfect sense - and yes, that's quite a dilemma for your hypothetical "friend". and the saying "you'll never know until you try", although tempting, just may make matters worse.
but of course if that person knows his/her family well, then he/she at least has an an idea how they will react, right?
be that as it may i still wish this person the best of luck, hypothetical or not.
